A Pulitzer Prize-winning drama by Frank D. Gilroy Presented in collaboration with Pilgrim Soul Productions The Subject Was Roses, the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama and Tony Award-winning Best Play, is being brought back to the stage in a reprise of last year's Pilgrim Soul production, starring Matthew J. Carr, Timothy Carr, and Betty Kristen – directed by Julie Standrowicz. Set in May of 1946, The Subject Was Roses chronicles the story of Timmy Cleary who has come home from the war to his estranged parents, John and Nettie. In an attempt at reconciliation, the three family members reminisce amidst recriminations and struggle to recapture the past and all it represents.
