A Musical Revue of the songs by Johnny Mercer Too Marvelous for Words celebrates the songs of Johnny Mercer, one of America's most prolific writers of popular music. In a song-writing career that began in 1930 and spanned five decades, Johnny Mercer created the lyrics - and sometimes the music - to more than 1,000 popular songs, including the scores to six Broadway musicals and fifty Hollywood motion pictures, and earned himself nineteen Oscar nominations, four Oscar Awards and two Grammy Awards. Too Marvelous for Words features thirty Johnny Mercer songs, including such hit tunes as , Come Rain or Come Shine, Fools Rush In, Laura, Moon River, Satin Doll, Skylark, and Tangerine.
