Too Marvelous for Words celebrates the songs of Johnny Mercer, one of America's most prolific writers of popular music. In a song-writing career that began in 1930 and spanned five decades, Johnny Mercer created the lyrics - and sometimes the music - to more than 1,000 popular songs, including the scores to six Broadway musicals and fifty Hollywood motion pictures, and earned himself nineteen Oscar nominations, four Oscar Awards and two Grammy Awards.
